Cistercians at Sri Lanka

On March 15th 2010, a small community of Cistercian monks arrived at Sri Lanka to begin with a monastic life of "ora et labora", i.e. praying and working. Four brothers of srilankan origin are joined by a father of the austrian Abbey of Heiligenkreuz, where all of them have received during the last nine years the monastic formation.
The communtiy lives at Tillanduwa, Negombo, a town, named as "little Rome", because of having a catholic majority there.
The picture shows His Grace the Archbishop of Colombo Malcolm Ranjith on the occasion of the blessing of the house, together with the cistercian fathers.
